Notice of Casual Vacancy available to be filled by co-option following a resignation

Following the resignation of a Councillor, Market Bosworth Parish Council has one seat vacant. The Parish Council intends to co-opt to fill this vacancy and invites applications from interested persons.

Could this be you? Are you interested in serving your local community?

You must be either:

• A British citizen;
• An eligible Commonwealth citizen;
• A citizen of the Republic of Ireland;
• A qualifying EU citizen or an EU citizen with retained rights

And

• 18 years of age or over, and fulfil one or more of the following criteria;

1. You are, and will continue to be, on the register of electors for the parish;
2. You have occupied as owner or tenant any land or premises in the parish area during the whole of the twelve months preceding your nomination;
3. Your main or only place of work during the 12 months prior to the day of your nomination has been in the parish area;
4. You have lived in the parish area or within three miles of it during the whole of the 12 months before the day of your nomination.

You will be asked to confirm your eligibility for office.

Written expressions of interest from persons wishing to serve as a councillor need to be submitted to the Clerk of the Council within 14 days of the date of this notice (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).

A written submission of interest must be received by the Parish Council Clerk no later than 4.00pm 24 April 2025 and following that the council will fill the casual vacancy by co-option process.
