The Parish Council, with the assistance of the Bosworth Vision Planning Group has finalised the draft modified Neighbourhood Plan ready for public consultation. The consultation will run from 9.00 am on Friday 1st September until 5.00 pm on Monday 16th October 2023.

The Neighbourhood Plan sets out a vision for the future of the Parish and planning policies which will be used to determine planning proposals locally. It has proved to be very effective in helping to reject a number of speculative development proposals which go against the expressed wishes of the community. This modified version updates the first Market Bosworth Neighbourhood Plan which was made in 2015 and had a minor update in 2021.

It is necessary to update the Plan now in line with current planning guidelines and ensure that the Plan is robust in terms of planning requirements as it is more than 2 years old.

Apart from the change in timeframe and ensuring that the Plan conforms to the latest version of all the policy and planning documents the modifications are relatively minor, though the layout and appearance have changed.

There are no changes to the Vision, Aims or Objectives of the Plan but some policies will be slightly modified and there will be some additional policies to reflect today's world.

Market Bosworth Parish Council is now inviting comments on the proposals in this Pre-Submission version of the Plan before it is submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council for formal consideration and wider consultation.

The consultation opens for comment on Friday 1st September 2023 and closes at 5pm on Monday 16th October 2023.

The consultation is being managed by an independent body (RCC Leicestershire& Rutland) on behalf of the Parish Council. You need to provide your contact details, but your personal details will not be made public.

An online version of the Draft Modified Plan, a Statement outlining the proposed changes, information about the approval process and the evidence base documents can be viewed on this website and printed copies will be available for viewing in the Community Library, and the Parish Council Office on Park Street during their normal opening hours.

It is hoped that there will be an open session where you can discuss the Plan changes with representatives of the Parish Council and BVPG during the consultation period, details to be confirmed.
