Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days are scheduled to take place across the borough during two weekends in September.
One of the Open Days features Bosworth Hall Hotel in Market Bosworth where this grade II listed building will be hosting guided tours at 1pm and 3pm on Thursday 6 September.
The Hall was home to Lady Florence Dixie, who lived there from 1855 to 1905. Florence married Lord Alexander Beaumont Churchill Dixie in 1875 at the age of 19. They had two sons and lived happily, leading an adventurous life together until they were forced to sell the family home in 1890 to pay off gambling debts. Lady Dixie was a keen sportswoman and played a key role in establishing women's association football. Also a keen traveller and writer with a strong interest in politics, Lady Dixie was an ardent feminist and a member of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies.
St Peter's Church will also be open as part of the Heritage Open Day programme.
